On July 26th, 2012, the 863 project “Key Technology Research on High-Pressure Common Rail Heavy Duty Diesel Engine†hosted by Weichai Group was held in Weichai Group Science and Technology Building. The launch of this project marks Weichai Group's comprehensive involvement in the original innovation and basic fields of electric control technology, post-processing technology, and application technology.
At the kick-off meeting, industry scholars from Shandong University, Tianjin University, and Tongji University respectively conducted fierce discussions on the progress and research topics of the 863 program hosted by Weichai Group and put forward many constructive ideas. In order to speed up the project process and give full play to the respective advantages of the enterprise and the university, the conference has carried out a detailed decomposition of the 863 program. According to the technical research direction of each unit involved in the project, the topics of “Key Technology Research of High-Pressure Common Rail Heavy Duty Diesel Engine†are divided into the whole unit, the post-processing group, the intake and exhaust group, the electronic control unit and the fuel unit. At the meeting, the system for holding the regular meeting of the project was determined every six months, and each unit was in turn hosted.
It is understood that the "Key Technology Study of High-Pressure Common Rail Heavy Duty Diesel Engines" is the 863 plan project undertaken by Weichai Group during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period. This subject is affiliated to the modern transportation technology field and is under the management of the Technology Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The entire project will be completed in 2014.
Over the years, Weichai Group has successively presided over 10 863 program projects and scientific and technological research projects and achieved excellent results, which fully demonstrates the Weichai Group’s strong R&D capabilities. The commencement of these science and technology projects has played an important role in enhancing Weichai Group's independent innovation capability and overall strength.
