On July 13, Nantong Gangzha Ship Co., Ltd. unveiled the "Xinhai Crocodile," the largest domestically built dredger constructed by the Shanghai Waterway Bureau. Designed by CSSC Corporation in 1987, this advanced vessel measures 97.8 meters in length, 17.2 meters in width, and has a depth of 5.0 meters. It features a full load draft of 3.67 meters and can dredge up to 3,500 cubic meters per hour, with a maximum operating depth of 25 meters. The ship is over 6,000 meters long, making it the largest non-self-propelled, single-deck, steel-hulled cutter suction dredger designed and built in China. It's specifically suited for excavating silt, clay, and moderately hard soil. The "Xinhai Crocodile" is expected to be delivered by the end of September, marking a significant milestone in China's maritime engineering capabilities. This new dredger will play a crucial role in various infrastructure and environmental projects, enhancing efficiency and performance in dredging operations.
