During the replacement of existing turnouts, construction teams often face challenges such as limited space, tight scheduling, and high traffic volumes, leading to chaotic working conditions. To address these issues, the team conducted three rounds of technical upgrades. The newly developed ballast replacement equipment features a simple design and user-friendly operation, enabling single-handed movement of the ballast. The precision has been improved significantly, with errors controlled within 5 mm, ensuring greater efficiency and safety on the track.
According to reports, the new equipment can reduce the number of workers required per turnout group by 60 to 70 people, while also cutting direct costs by approximately 10,000 yuan per project. This innovation not only enhances productivity but also brings substantial economic benefits, making it highly valuable for widespread adoption across the railway construction sector. With its practicality and cost-effectiveness, this technology is expected to play a key role in modernizing railway infrastructure in China and beyond.
