Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions jointly issued a notice confirming that 184 enterprises have been selected as the second batch of innovative pilot companies. Among them, 12 are chemical industry enterprises, marking a significant step in promoting innovation-driven development within this key sector.
The 12 chemical companies included in the list are: China National Petroleum Corporation, China National Chemical Corporation, Shenyang Chemical Research Institute, Tianjin Chemical Research & Design Institute, China Daily Chemical Industry Research Institute, China Lucky Film Group, Dandong Hengxing Fine Chemical Co., Ltd., Siping Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd., Hubei Yihua Group Co., Ltd., Hubei Dinglong Chemical Co., Ltd., Guangdong Xixi Chemical Co., Ltd., and Qingdao Ocean Chemical Research Institute. These companies represent a diverse range of players across the chemical industry, from large state-owned enterprises to specialized research institutes.
The initiative aims to encourage and support the integration of innovation resources into enterprises, guiding them to adopt an innovation-driven development model. The goal is to enhance their independent innovation capabilities, accelerate the establishment of a technological innovation system where enterprises are the main actors, and promote the integration of production, education, and research. This approach emphasizes market orientation and long-term sustainable growth.
According to the notice, the pilot companies are required to prioritize innovation in their corporate strategies, improve institutional mechanisms for innovation, strengthen their innovation foundations, increase R&D investment, attract and cultivate talent, and foster an innovative culture. Companies that fail to meet these requirements may lose their pilot status, and those that no longer meet the criteria due to major changes will be promptly replaced. This ensures that only the most committed and capable enterprises continue to participate in the program, driving progress and competitiveness in the chemical industry.
