Shijiazhuang City 60% of buses changed to natural gas during the year

In 2023, Shijiazhuang made significant progress in environmental protection and energy conservation. A total of 80 coal-fired boilers were dismantled within the city area, while 2 million square meters of central heating zones were newly added. By the end of the year, 60% of the city's buses had been converted to natural gas, marking a major step toward cleaner public transportation. Additionally, the main urban area completed the replacement of coal with natural gas, significantly reducing emissions and improving air quality. On the afternoon of the 13th, the city held a large-scale meeting attended by over 1,000 participants focused on environmental protection, energy conservation, and emission reduction. The event aimed to mobilize and coordinate efforts for this year’s environmental initiatives. At the meeting, Mayor Ruan Chuntang emphasized that the city departments had already started implementing the environmental protection and energy-saving emission reduction plans. He stressed the importance of taking effective actions to prioritize environmental protection and emission reductions as a top priority, ensuring sustainable development for the future.
