Shijiazhuang City 60% of buses changed to natural gas during the year

In 2024, Shijiazhuang made significant progress in environmental protection and energy conservation. A total of 80 coal-fired boilers were removed from the city area, marking a major step toward reducing air pollution. Additionally, 2 million square meters of central heating coverage was expanded, improving residents' access to cleaner energy sources. During the same period, 60% of the city's buses were converted to natural gas, significantly cutting down harmful emissions. By the end of the year, the natural gas replacement project in the main urban area was fully completed, further supporting the city's green transition. On the afternoon of the 13th, Shijiazhuang held a large-scale meeting involving over 1,000 participants focused on environmental protection, energy conservation, and emission reduction. The event aimed to mobilize and coordinate efforts for this year’s environmental initiatives. At the meeting, Mayor Ruan Chuntang emphasized that various departments in Shijiazhuang have been actively implementing environmental protection and energy-saving measures. He stressed the importance of taking more effective actions to prioritize environmental protection and emission reduction, making it a top priority for the city's development strategy. The mayor also called for enhanced collaboration among government agencies, enterprises, and the public to ensure the success of these initiatives. With a growing awareness of environmental issues, Shijiazhuang is working hard to build a more sustainable and eco-friendly future for its citizens.
