Wafer check valve performance specifications (technical parameters) and installation

The wafer check valve is a versatile one-way fluid control device designed to allow flow in only one direction. Its lightweight and compact design make it easy to install between flanges, offering a space-efficient solution for various piping systems. The valve consists of two semi-circular springs and a flat disc. A pin is fixed on the valve body, and when the spring deforms, the disc closes. When fluid pressure overcomes the spring force, the disc opens quickly, preventing water hammer effects that could damage the pipeline. When installing the wafer check valve, it's crucial to ensure that the flow direction matches the valve’s orientation. For vertical piping, installation is straightforward. However, in horizontal configurations, it's recommended to use a telescopic pipe vertically between the check valve and a butterfly valve. Avoid connecting the check valve directly to other valves within the operating range of the disc to prevent obstructions or unnecessary fittings. Do not install a reducer before or after the check valve, as this can interfere with its proper operation. When placing the valve near a bend, ensure there is enough clearance for proper installation. If the valve is installed at the pump outlet, leave at least six times the valve diameter of space to allow the disc to move freely under fluid pressure. This ensures reliable performance and extends the life of the valve. Always follow manufacturer guidelines for specific installation requirements.
