Midlothian added to the site

The Midlothian Fire Department, part of MABAS Division 22, has recently been added to our website. This department operates out of two stations, each with its own unique setup. Station 1 is manned by full-time firefighters, ensuring round-the-clock coverage and rapid response times. In contrast, Station 2 is staffed by part-time personnel, offering flexibility and cost-efficiency. Midlothian Fire Department is equipped with state-of-the-art vehicles from Pierce, including three fire engines and two squad units designed for various emergency scenarios. Station 2 is located at 14700 S. Homan Avenue, as captured in a photograph by Dennis McGuire, Jr. The station itself is an essential component of the community's safety infrastructure, providing both operational support and public engagement opportunities. Adjacent to the station, you'll find one of their newer additions—a 2011 Pierce Saber pumper affectionately designated as Engine 4. This impressive vehicle was photographed by Karl Klotz and stands as a testament to the department's commitment to modern firefighting technology. Another highlight of the Midlothian fleet is Squad 2707, which also calls Station 2 home. This versatile unit plays a crucial role in rescue operations and medical emergencies. A close-up view of Squad 2707 was taken by Dennis McGuire, Jr., showcasing its readiness and professionalism. Engine 2723, another key asset, is housed at Station 2. This piece of equipment reflects the department's dedication to maintaining high standards in firefighting capabilities. The image of Engine 2723, captured by Dennis McGuire, Jr., highlights its robust design and functionality. For those interested in the department's history, there’s the 1973 P-Series Seagrave engine, lovingly nicknamed "Seagrave Squrt." This classic vehicle underwent a significant rebuild in 1994 by Pierce, featuring an updated Arrow cab. Equipped with a powerful 1,250-GPM pump and a 300-gallon water tank, it boasts an impressive 54-foot ladder. Larry Shapiro's photograph beautifully captures the essence of this vintage yet reliable piece of firefighting history. These images and descriptions not only showcase the impressive array of vehicles but also emphasize the Midlothian Fire Department's ongoing efforts to serve and protect its community. Each vehicle tells a story of resilience, innovation, and service excellence, making Midlothian a model for other departments across the region.
