Working fire in Wheeling, 3-18-18

Wheeling firefighters responded to an automatic alarm at 45 W. Hintz Road and arrived at Crothall Laundry Services to find heavy smoke coming from the building. Upon arrival, the first engine unit requested a working fire designation and entered the large industrial laundry facility. The fire was discovered in a commercial dryer and was quickly extinguished before mutual aid units arrived on scene. Firefighters conducted a thorough search of the area to ensure no hidden embers remained. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but no injuries were reported.
