Hey there! Just came across this interesting piece about ExxonMobil's latest fire truck purchase. It seems they went with Ferrara Fire Apparatus for their new rig. Here’s what I gathered:
ExxonMobil’s Joliet Refinery in Illinois recently added a Ferrara Inferno® Industrial Super Pumper® to its firefighting arsenal. Located just outside Chicago, the refinery needed a vehicle that could handle their growing operational demands while keeping safety top of mind. Chief Michael Smith mentioned that they were looking for something with high flow capacity and improved maneuverability. And apparently, Ferrara delivered big time.
The design team worked closely with the refinery to customize the unit according to their specific needs. They ended up going with a rugged two-door Inferno Series cab and chassis made from MAXX-Strength 3/16†marine-grade extruded aluminum. That’s some serious durability right there! On top of that, it comes equipped with a Wireless Remote Controlled Task Force Tips Tsunami deck gun. This gadget is a game-changer because it reduces the number of firefighters required to operate large flow transportable monitors. According to Chief Smith, “less setup time equals a safer scene.â€
Another cool feature is the FoamPro® AccuMax® Fusion multi-point direct injection foam system. It can pump out 300 gallons per minute and has dual 3†foam intake connections. This gives the refinery a lot more flexibility compared to their previous balanced pressure foam systems.
Chief Smith emphasized how this new Super Pumper will enhance their response times and reduce manpower requirements during emergencies. It’s definitely a step forward in ensuring the refinery remains well-prepared for any incidents.
