Mainland plans to invest 600 million baht to increase production capacity in Thailand

The mainland group recently stated that it plans to invest 600 million baht (approximately US$19 million) in its Amata City Industrial Estate in Thailand to increase production capacity.

The main purpose of this investment by the Continental Group is to benefit from the internal trade between the ASEAN economic community AEC. By 2015, ASEAN will form a product base and a single market without borders.

The mainland expects that by 2014, the AMD industrial plant will have an annual output of 2.5 million fuel injectors and 500,000 high-pressure pumps.

Thomas Chambers, general manager of Continental Thailand, said that 90% of the Thai factory's production capacity will be exported to markets such as China, India and Europe, and the remaining 10% will be used to meet the needs of Thailand's local market.

In addition, the Continental Group intends to expand its office in Bangkok, Thailand this year, adding 120 employees. Currently, the office has nearly 500 employees.
