Auto parts supplier Denso Corporation (Denso) today announced that the company will appoint Hikaru Sugi for its North American corporate headquarters Denso International America (DIAM), president and chief executive officer (CEO). The appointment has been effective since June 22, 2011.
Hikaru Sugi
Previously, Sugi served as senior executive director of Denso Corporation. In the future, he will take over the job of the outgoing Yoshiki Sekiguchi. After taking office, Sugi will also serve as chairman of the board of Denso North America.
At present, Sugi oversees the work of the Denso Engineering Research and Development Center, the Hybrid Power Systems Engineering Department and the New Business Promotion Department. After he served as president of Denso International America and Denso North America, he will continue the current work.
For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011, the company’s consolidated revenue in the Americas totaled US$6.4 billion, and it has more than 16,000 employees.
