9/11 remembrance ceremony – North Maine FPD

The North Maine Fire Protection District recently acquired a piece of steel from the wreckage of the World Trade Center and unveiled it during a heartfelt memorial service held on Sunday, marking the 10th anniversary of the most devastating terrorist attacks in U.S. history. The artifact was carefully integrated into an existing 9/11 memorial located at the Ridgewood Cemetery on Milwaukee Avenue, adding a powerful new element to the site. Tim Olk was present at the event and captured these poignant images, offering a visual tribute to the day's significance. The memorial now stands as a lasting symbol of remembrance and resilience, honoring those who were lost and the brave first responders who risked their lives.
