Newport Township Fire Protection District responded to a second-alarm call at Box 14-43 regarding a barn fire on Hunt Club Road, just north of Wadsworth Road. When they arrived, the first barn was fully engulfed in flames, and the fire had already spread somewhat to an adjacent barn. Unfortunately, both structures were completely lost to the blaze. Two vehicles stored inside one of the barns were also destroyed.

The firefighters worked quickly to control the situation, using foam to protect nearby structures and minimize further damage. Their efforts were commendable, though the intensity of the fire made saving the buildings nearly impossible.
