Types of mechanical seal technology

New technologies for the use of new materials and processes for mechanical seals are advancing at a fast pace and have the following new mechanical seal technologies.

Sealing Technology for Sealing Surfaces In recent years, a variety of flow grooves have been opened on the sealing surfaces of mechanical seals to produce hydrostatic and dynamic pressure effects, and are now constantly updated.

Zero-leakage seal technology has historically considered contactless and non-contact mechanical seals to be impossible to achieve zero leakage (or no leakage). Israel used slotted sealing technology to propose a new concept of zero-leakage non-contact mechanical face seals and was used in lubricant pumps for nuclear power plants.

Dry Operation Gas Sealing Technology This type of sealing uses slotted sealing technology for gas sealing.

Upstream pumping seal technology uses the gutter on the sealing face to pump a small amount of downstream leakage fluid back upstream.

The structural characteristics of the above types of seals are: shallow grooves, depths of film thickness and flow grooves are all in the micron range, and lubrication grooves, radial seal dams, and circumferential seals are used to form the seals and load-bearing parts. It can also be said that slotted seals are combinations of flat seals and slotted bearings. Its advantages are small leakage (even no leakage), large film thickness, elimination of contact friction, low power consumption, and low heat generation.

Hot hydrodynamic pressure sealing technology utilizes a variety of deep-shaped sealing surface flow grooves to cause local thermal deformation to generate a hydrodynamic wedge effect. This type of seal with hydrodynamic load carrying capacity is called a hydrodynamic wedge seal.

Bellows sealing technology can be divided into forming metal bellows and welding metal bellows mechanical seal technology.

Multi-face sealing technology is divided into double seals, intermediate ring seals, and multiple seal technologies.

There are also parallel-surface sealing technology, monitoring and sealing technology, and combination sealing technology.
