The F-12 high-strength organic fiber project independently researched and developed by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Sixth Institute for 10 years is a state-supported industrialization project. The project from the third monomer of raw materials to polymer, fiber development, etc. all for China's own technology, production scale is an annual output of 50 tons of F-12 high-strength organic fibers and some fiber products, including 25 tons of crude fiber, fine fiber 25 tons.
The 6th Institute of Aerospace began to develop special (third) monomers for high-strength organic fibers from 1994, and won the third prize for scientific and technological achievements in defense science and technology in 1999. In 1997, it successfully developed new structural polymers for high-strength organic fibers; it was designed and manufactured in 1999. The first set of high-strength organic fiber spinning and fiber post-processing experimental lines, and carried out a large number of experimental work, and finally developed a high-strength organic fiber, the product strength reached an average of 4.6GPa or more; in 2004 the research won the national defense scientific and technological achievements prize. In 2007, the hospital also established a pilot production line with an annual output of 3 tons of F-12 high-strength organic fiber, which solved the problem of fiber stability, and the fiber strength reached a stable level of 4.6 GPa, making the F-12 fiber performance a world-leading level. Far more than domestic production of Kevlar II fiber. The annual output of 50 tons of F-12 high-strength organic fiber project is based on this scale of scale-up and industrial production.
