A fixture is a device that is used to fix a processing object during the manufacturing process so that it can occupy the correct position to accept construction or inspection. Also known as fixtures. In a broad sense, any device used to quickly, conveniently, and safely install a workpiece during any process in the process can be referred to as a fixture. For example, welding fixtures, inspection fixtures, assembly fixtures, machine tool fixtures, etc.

One of the most common machine tool fixtures, often referred to as fixtures. When processing a workpiece on a machine tool, in order to make the surface energy of the workpiece meet the technical requirements such as the size, geometry and mutual position accuracy of other surfaces, the workpiece must be mounted (positioned) and clamped (clamped) before machining. . The fixture usually consists of a positioning element (determining the correct position of the workpiece in the fixture), a clamping device, a tool guiding element (determining the relative position of the tool to the workpiece or guiding the direction of the tool), and an indexing device (allowing the workpiece to be mounted in one installation. The processing of several stations is completed, and there are two types of rotary indexing devices and linear motion indexing devices, connecting elements, and clamps (fixture bases).

The types of fixtures can be divided into:

1 universal universal fixture. Such as machine vise, chuck, indexing head and rotary table, etc., have great versatility, can better adapt to the transformation of processing procedures and processing objects, its structure has been set, size, specifications have been serialized, Most of these have become standard accessories for machine tools.

2 special fixture. It is specially designed and manufactured for the installation requirements of a certain product component in a certain process. The service object is specific and highly targeted. Generally, it is designed by the product manufacturer. Commonly used lathe fixtures, milling fixtures, drilling dies (guided tool drilling or reaming machine tool fixtures), dies (guided boring tool boring machine tool fixtures) and accompanying fixtures (using On the assembly machine automatic line of mobile fixture).

3 adjustable clamps. Special fixtures that can replace or adjust components.

4 combination fixture. Fixtures made up of standardized components of different shapes, sizes, and uses are suitable for trial production of new products and frequent single-piece replacement, batch production, and temporary tasks.
