Beijing Shipbuilding Heavy Industry's first “unmanned boat” passed the expert review

The successful development of the boat laid the foundation for the development and production of unmanned boats in China, and also opened a good start for the enterprise to broaden the market application field in the future.
The water surface unmanned measuring platform adopts the full-closed structure of FRP, which is powered by diesel engine and propelled by water jet. It has good maneuverability and wind wave resistance. Its characteristics are unmanned and unsinkable. It is suitable for sea trial missions that are not suitable for manned. After carrying relevant control systems, it can perform water temperature meteorological parameter measurement, terrain survey, detection, navigation, search and rescue tasks, etc. Maritime inspection missions for working environments in different waters, such as inland rivers and deep oceans. In March of this year, the boat went to the South China Sea with the “China Sea Patrol 116” South China Sea Cruise Formation, which lasted 14 days and successfully completed the first flight test and unmanned measurement mission.
The judging panel consisted of more than a dozen units including China Ocean University, People's Liberation Army Information Engineering University, and the Naval Air Insurance Department, including an academic panel of Chinese Academy of Engineering. The prototype was remotely controlled and autonomous navigation navigation, automatic surface and underwater obstacles. The tests of obstacle avoidance and long-distance autonomous navigation have passed the inspection of China Classification Society and realized the comprehensive measurement function of marine multi-factors. The review concluded that the “platform” has the characteristics of high integration and convenient operation, and meets the design requirements. Creative, scientific, forward-looking and practical, and unanimously passed the review. It is reported that in the follow-up work, Beichuan Heavy Industry will deepen the core technology research together with the project undertaker, accelerate the industrialization process, form a diversified product series, and strive to select the National Oceanic 863 Program in 2014.
