The Wärtsilä 31 diesel engine was introduced to the market in 2015 and has been recognized by the Guinness World Record for the world's most effective four-stroke diesel engine.
According to the parts, high efficiency is the key to Wärtsilä's acquisition of the contract. The Wartsila 31 diesel engine also has a modular design that helps reduce maintenance requirements and costs. For example, the first overhaul will be scheduled after 32,000 hours of operation.
It is reported that the Wärtsilä Wartsila 31 diesel engine is scheduled to deliver diesel engines to the shipyard in early 2017, which will be put into operation in the summer of 2018. The ferry will sail between Rønne to Køge and Rønne to Sassnitz on the Danish waters of Bornholm.
