When the content of slime (-10 micron particles) is high, it will seriously affect the progress of the beneficiation process. The following measures can be taken in production to eliminate or reduce the harmful effects of slime.
1. The ore is de-sludged, and the mud and sand are treated separately. This method is very effective and can greatly improve the index of the flotation and cyanidation process.
2. Use various inhibitors (water glass, starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, polyacrylamide) to inhibit slime floating.
3. Different sorting schemes are applied to slime and sulfide. The slime is floated with ethanol or pine oil, and the sulfide and gold are floated with a xanthate.
4. Use coagulant and flocculant to improve ore condensability and filterability.
5. The dissolved gold is directly adsorbed from the cyanide slurry by ion exchange resin or activated carbon.
