U.S. Anti-circumvention Investigation of Chinese Gum Powder

On October 28, 2010, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued an announcement deciding to launch anti-circumvention investigations of Glycine products against applications from GEO Specialty Chemicals and Chattem Chemicals. The applicant accused India's three companies of importing sugar gum products from China to complete the final processing, and affixing Indian origin labels to the United States for export. This action has prevented the anti-dumping measures of the United States against China's sugar and gelatin products from being evaded.
On March 29, 1995, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued an anti-dumping measure against China's imported sugar gum products and decided to levy 155.89% anti-dumping duties.
