Heavy truck sales in August 57,000 Dongfeng commercial vehicles still lead FAW liberation anti-overweight heavy truck

In August 2011, among the industry's sluggish expectations, the domestic heavy truck market completed a small reversal: sales of 57,000 vehicles in a single month, an increase of more than 12%. This means that the heavy truck market is expected to go out of the trough for more than a month, and the next few months will begin on the road to recovery.

Heavy truck market gradually recovers

It was recently learned that in August 2011, China’s heavy truck market sold a total of approximately 57,000 vehicles, a 12.8% increase from the previous quarter and a 12.1% decrease from the same period in 2010. Despite the year-on-year decline, the growth rate of more than double digits on a quarter-over-quarter basis was particularly rare in the already bleak summer, as the heavy-duty truck market has been negative growth since April 2011.

Among them, FAW Jiefang and Dongfeng commercial vehicles sold monthly heavy trucks with 13,400 and 13,000 vehicles, which led the industry to grow strongly. Compared with the downturn in July, FAW Jiefang and Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle achieved an increase of 36.3% and 17.3% sequentially in August. Even compared to the same period in 2010, Dongfeng also had a 0.4% year-on-year increase.

Except for FAW Jiefang and Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles, most of the other heavy truck companies also increased in July. In August, Futian Auman sold 6,200 heavy trucks, an increase of 7.8% from the previous month; Shaanxi Automobile Group sold approximately 5,800 heavy trucks, an increase of 13%; Beiben and Hongyan sold 1,803 heavy trucks and 1,531 units of heavy trucks, an increase of 29% from the previous quarter. And 23.5%; JAC heavy truck sales of 3264 vehicles, an increase of 20.8%. In contrast, Sinotruk and Hualing have seen a slight decrease from the previous month, selling 7,500 heavy trucks (down 6.3% from the previous month) and 1,525 vehicles (down 11.5% from the previous quarter).

In the first eight months of 2011, the domestic heavy truck market sold a total of 651,000 vehicles, a decrease of 9.5% from 719,000 vehicles in the same period of 2010. Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles continued to rank first among cumulative sales of 137,600 units from January to August; FAW liberated more than China National Heavy Duty Truck and leapt to 110,300 units second; China National Heavy Duty Truck ranked the third with 110,200 units sold. Fukuda and Shaanxi Auto took 77,700 units and 76,700 units respectively, ranking fourth and fifth respectively. In the third group army, sales of Jianghuai and Hongyan continued to increase in August, with year-on-year increases of 76.9% and 6.6% respectively; Beiben and Hualing sold 29,100 vehicles and 20,800 vehicles, respectively, a year-on-year decrease of 7.7% and 6%. %.

It is understood that the reason for the recovery of the heavy-duty truck market in August 2011 was largely inspired by the “Regulations on the Protection of Highway Safety” implemented from July 1. On July 1, 2011, the “Regulations on the Protection of Highway Safety” was formally implemented throughout the country. Over the course of the highway control over the 100-day rule was set up. Many provinces and municipalities imposed greater penalties on violations of overloading. Due to the varying degrees of implementation around the country, many transport users waited in June and July before and after the implementation of the “Regulations”. Since mid-August, with the increasingly clear policy directions of the central government and local governments, the demand for lightweight tractors was gradually released, which in turn drove the overall recovery of the heavy truck market. This is highlighted by the fact that the sales of FAW liberation, known for tractors, rose sharply in August.

September is expected to grow slightly

Based on the rise in the market in August, the heavy-duty truck market in September also showed a momentum of continued growth. The main force of growth is still lightweight tractors. At present, the orders for the FAW Jiefang, Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles and Futian Auman, which have certain advantages in the tractor market, have increased relatively significantly in September, while orders for China National Heavy Duty Truck, Hongyan, Shaanxi Auto, etc., which are dominant in the construction vehicle market, have not grown significantly. ideal.

In spite of this, the traditional prosperity scene of “Golden September and Silver Day 10” has not yet emerged in September. Most of the heavy truck companies said that the current order situation is still not optimistic, only a slight increase compared with August, and there has been no sign of an increase of 20%-30% in orders in September compared with July and August. From this point of view, although the heavy truck market has gradually emerged from the lowest point after August, it is not yet realistic for Jin Jiuyin's ten season to recover to the same level in 2010. The trend of the heavy truck market in the last few months in 2011 remains to be seen.
