The viscometer measures the viscosity, density and temperature of heavy fuel oil used on the main and auxiliary engines of the ship. It can replace the original mechanical detector without the need for routine cleaning, maintenance and recalibration. In addition, the new pollution emission regulations require that vessels using heavy fuel oil be converted to other fuels such as gas oil, posing a challenge to the original mechanical detection system in terms of fuel density.
