China's first cantilevered shoe boring machine trial run

Reporters learned from Yangquan Coal Group, after intense pre-commissioning, EBZ85C cantilever-type gripper shoes TBM recently put into trial operation in Yangquan Coal Mine. It is reported that this is also the first type of tunneling equipment used in China's smallest tunneling roadway.

"The EBZ85C cantilever type shovel boring machine can meet the ventilation requirements, the roadway section is small, and the boring speed can be greatly accelerated." The EBZ85C cantilevered boots are introduced by the workers of the Yangmei Second Mine General Team. The roadheader was installed under the mine on November 28, 2017, and it was applied to the construction of high-drainage roadway of 21306 fully mechanized mining face in No.8 coal mining area.

The traditional cantilever type boring machine can only cut part of the section of the roadway. To break the full-section rock, it is necessary to continuously move the cutting head up and down to complete the work. The cantilever type boring machine is designed to reduce the tunneling speed, reduce the cost of boring and support, reduce the amount of shovel, and reduce the cost of washing and environmental protection. The EBZ85C cantilever type hoisting machine is currently the world's leading mining and boring equipment with small cutting surface, safe and efficient. It is the first shoe-type shield machine in China. The equipment is jointly designed, developed and manufactured by Liaoning Zhongdun Group and Herrenknecht, Germany. Its main features are parallel operation of excavation, anchor and transportation. It is mainly suitable for rapid excavation of small section rock roadway with horseshoe section under coal mine.
