The main structure of the centrifugal pump consists of several parts: impeller, pump casing, bottom valve, pump shaft, suction pipe, pressure water pipe, pump seat, irrigation funnel and control valve. The impeller is the core part of the centrifugal pump and it needs to drive the entire centrifugal pump. The role of the impeller determines the requirements of its material, only the strength of high corrosion resistance and wear resistance, good welding of metal or alloy materials can be used. The "centrifugal pump", as its name implies, works on the principle that the centrifugal force is produced by the high-speed rotation of the impeller. Therefore, when using a centrifugal pump, the pump casing and the suction pipe are in full water. After the motor is started, the water is thrown out under the action of centrifugal force to form a vacuum. The water in the suction pool is pressed into the pump casing under the action of atmospheric pressure. Inside, the impeller rotates constantly, so that water continuously flows in and out under the action of the impeller, achieving the purpose of conveying water.

The types of various types of centrifugal pumps in China are standardized, and the pump type number has four parts: I, II, III, and IV.

I represents the suction diameter of the pump and is expressed in Arabic numerals in millimeters, such as 80, 100, and so on. However, the old product is represented by “in”, which means that the population is divided by 25, such as 2, 3, 4 and 6.

II represents the basic structure, characteristics, use, and materials of the pump. It is marked with the initial of the Hanyu Pinyin alphabet. For example, B is a single-stage single-suction cantilever centrifugal pump; S is a single-stage double-suction centrifugal pump; D is a multi-stage centrifugal pump; F is a corrosion-resistant pump; Y is a single-stage centrifugal pump; Ys is double-suction Oil pump and so on.

III represents the head and progression of the centrifugal pump and is expressed in Arabic numerals in units of mH20.

IV represents a variant of a centrifugal pump, with uppercase Hanyu Pinyin A, B, and C.
