The key to real-time simulation of the system lies in the graphics display algorithm. The algorithm and the quality determine the speed and accuracy of the simulation. With the rapid development of computers, computer graphics enhancements, real-time simulation is possible, but the development of its algorithms is relatively slow. Previous algorithms based on Z-BUFFER and Boolean operations often require workstations to operate. The cube projection imitation algorithm uses the Z-MAP structure to create an extremely compressed three-dimensional entity representation method, which does not require Z-BUFFER and Boolean operations, so it is suitable for computers with low hardware configuration. It requires less memory and performs faster.
Z-MAP Entity Structure: In recent years, advances based on cube algorithms have created visual 3D solid modeling. In the three-coordinate data processing, when the tool moves on the blank, only the coordinates of the Z-axis change, so the cube-based algorithm is suitable for the shape of the blank machining process.
Usually a cube-based solid model uses an octree structure to divide the blank into many small cubes. This method of modifying small cubes in an entity is called Z-MAP. The length and width of each small cube are a standard length. This algorithm is not suitable for expressing a hollow entity or a suspended entity, but this algorithm is sufficient for three-axis NC machining.
