According to foreign media reports, Audi CEO Rupert Stadler further elaborated on details of Audi's future new energy development strategy, and stated that Audi will produce electric vehicles at major plants around the world, including Mexico and Hungary.

Two of Audi's first mass-produced electric vehicles will be produced at the Brussels plant and will be pressured by German trade unions. Stead, who heads up to 7,000 workers at the Ingolstadt headquarters in Audi in Germany, said that in the future, all of Audi's plants will involve production of electric vehicles.

Peter Mertens, Audi's director of research and development, said Audi hopes to launch more than 20 electric vehicles by 2025, including more than a dozen models of pure electric vehicles.

Audi will begin production of the e-tron EV at its Brussels plant next year, and the e-tron hatchback will begin production in 2019. The e-tron's benchmark model is the Tesla Model X, and the hatchback version faces the upcoming Jaguar I-Pace.

In 2020, Audi will produce compact electric vehicles based on the Volkswagen Group's modular electric platform MEB. From 2021, Audi will produce electric vehicles based on the new high-end electric vehicle platform developed with Porsche. In addition to the Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm plants, Audi also has factories in Belgium, Mexico and Hungary, and in the overseas market it also uses Volkswagen and Skoda's factories for production.

Audi Union chairman Peter Mosch also called on Audi executives to accelerate the deployment of electric vehicles in Germany on Wednesday, mainly because Audi's workers in Germany will gradually lose their competitiveness under the new energy vehicle development trend. Peter Mosch said that workers hope to have an argument before the end of the year.
