2SK Pump Description:
The 2SK series two-stage water ring vacuum pump and the 2SK-P1 series two-stage water ring vacuum pump — air injection pump unit are advanced vacuum pumps designed for high vacuum performance, fast evacuation speed in high vacuum ranges, compact structure, reliable operation, and easy maintenance. These units are developed according to the standards of JB/TQ354-84 (Water Ring Vacuum Pump and Water Ring Air Compressor).
This system consists of a single-stage air injection pump and a two-stage water ring vacuum pump, which can be used separately as needed by the client.
The two-stage water ring vacuum pump or unit is ideal for pumping air and non-corrosive gases that are insoluble in water and free from solid particles, making it suitable for achieving high vacuum levels in sealed vessels.
Working Principle:
When the eccentrically mounted impellers rotate inside the pump casing, water is thrown outward due to centrifugal force, forming a rotating water ring between the inner surface of the casing and the impeller. This water ring contacts the impeller hub. As the impeller rotates clockwise, the water ring gradually moves away from the hub during the first half of the rotation, creating a cavity that draws in gas through the crescent-shaped suction port. In the second half of the rotation, the water ring approaches the hub, reducing the cavity size and compressing the gas, which is then expelled. When the internal pressure exceeds the external pressure, the gas is gradually evacuated, resulting in a vacuum.

An air injection pump is a type of jet injector. Its working principle involves creating a certain level of vacuum in the evacuated container using the two-stage water ring vacuum pump. Once maximum vacuum is reached, the atmosphere pump is connected, allowing air or pressurized gas to be rapidly drawn into the pipe due to the pressure difference. The flow rate increases after the air is injected, reducing pressure and enabling a higher vacuum than the pump alone, thus continuing to draw more gas into the system.

The structural diagram of a two-stage water ring vacuum pump with a capacity over 1.5 m³/min shows that the longer and shorter impellers are fixed to the shaft with pins. A shaft sleeve and a round nut secure them, forming the rotor. The impellers are installed eccentrically within the pump body and supported by radial ball bearings. The rotor is connected to the motor shaft via a coupling and rotates together with it. The longer impeller, longer pump body, and suction section create high vacuum, while the shorter pump body, shorter impeller, and discharge section form low vacuum. The air outlet of the high-vacuum segment is connected to the suction inlet of the low-vacuum segment via a communication pipe. The segments are separated by intermediate walls, and the 2SK series two-stage pumps are mechanically sealed at both ends.
A water inlet hole in the high-vacuum segment allows make-up water to be added to the longer pump body, while the low-vacuum segment receives make-up water from the high-vacuum side. For some models like 2SK-12A, 2SK-20A, and 2SK-30A, part of the make-up water comes from a separate supply line but must be regulated via valves. The high and low-vacuum sections are secured together using draw-in bolts. The air injection pump includes an inlet air pipe, jet nozzle, air valve body, and diffuser.
