2SK Pump Description:
The 2SK series two-stage water ring vacuum pump and the 2SK-P1 series air injection vacuum pump unit are high-performance vacuum systems designed for applications requiring high vacuum levels, fast evacuation rates in high vacuum ranges, compact design, reliable operation, and easy maintenance. These pumps are developed according to the standards set by JB/TQ354-84 for Water Ring Vacuum Pumps and Water Ring Air Compressors.
This unit consists of a single-stage air injection pump and a two-stage water ring vacuum pump, which can be used separately depending on client requirements.
The two-stage water ring vacuum pump or unit is suitable for pumping non-corrosive gases that are insoluble in water and do not contain solid particles, allowing for high vacuum creation in sealed vessels.
Working Principle:
The working principle of the two-stage water ring vacuum pump is illustrated in the figure below. When the eccentrically mounted impellers inside the pump housing rotate, water is thrown outward due to centrifugal force, forming a rotating water ring between the inner surface of the pump housing and the impeller. The inner surface of the water ring makes contact with the impeller hub. As the impeller rotates clockwise, the inner surface of the water ring gradually separates from the hub during the first half of the rotation, increasing the cavity between adjacent impellers and drawing gas into the cavity through the crescent-shaped suction port via the pump inlet pipe. During the second half of the rotation, the water ring moves closer to the impeller hub, reducing the cavity and compressing the gas, which is then expelled. This process continues until the internal pressure exceeds the external pressure, allowing for gradual evacuation of gas and the formation of a vacuum.

The air injection pump operates as a jet injector. When the two-stage water ring vacuum pump creates a certain level of vacuum, the atmosphere pump is connected when maximum vacuum is achieved. At this point, air (or pressurized gas) is rapidly drawn into the pipe due to the large pressure difference between the air and the intake pipe. After exiting the nozzle, the flow rate increases, causing a drop in pressure, resulting in a higher vacuum level than the pump itself. This allows for continued gas intake into the pump.

The structural diagram of the two-stage water ring vacuum pump with a capacity over 1.5 m³/min is shown in Figure 2. The longer impeller (17) and the shorter impeller (16) are fixed to the shaft (2) using pins, and a shaft sleeve (20) and a round nut secure them together to form the rotor. Both impellers are installed eccentrically within the pump body and supported by two single-row radial ball bearings. The rotor is connected to the motor shaft via a coupling (18), rotating together with the motor. The longer impeller, longer pump body, and suction part create high vacuum, while the shorter pump body, shorter impeller, and discharge part generate low vacuum. The air outlet of the high-vacuum section is connected to the suction inlet of the low-vacuum section via a communication pipe. The two sections are separated by intermediate walls (A)(7) and (B)(6), with wall (B) having an intake port. The 2SK series two-stage pumps are mechanically sealed at both ends.
There is a water inlet hole in the high-vacuum section where make-up water is filled into the longer pump body. The make-up water for the low-vacuum section is supplied from the high-vacuum side. For models like 2SK-12A, 2SK-20A, and 2SK-30A, the low-vacuum make-up water is partially supplied through a water supply pipe, but it needs to be regulated via valves. The high- and low-vacuum segments are secured together using draw-in bolts. The air injection pump includes an inlet air pipe, jet nozzle, air valve body, and diffuser.
