At approximately 16:10 today, the Winfield Fire Protection District responded to a dryer fire that had not yet extended. The incident took place at 27W212 Providence Court. Upon arrival, Chief 31 found fire and smoke coming from the overhead garage door and the laundry room area of a two-story, four-unit condominium complex measuring 150 by 50 feet. A single fire line was quickly deployed, and the fire was extinguished without further spread. Additional support was provided by companies from Carol Stream, West Chicago, and Wheaton.

The fire was contained quickly, and no injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation, but it appears to be an electrical issue in the dryer. The crew worked efficiently, and the response time was impressive. These photos capture the scene and the efforts of the first responders.
