On June 18th, China's largest diesel hydrotreating unit, Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd.'s 3.3 million tons/year diesel hydrorefining unit was put into operation, and at the time of the 16th day, it produced refined diesel fuel that met Euro III emission standards. So far, East China has added a large-scale high-quality diesel production base.

The 3.3 million tons/year diesel hydrorefining unit is one of the structural adjustment projects of Shanghai Petrochemical. After completion, it can effectively alleviate the contradiction between the quality of diesel products and insufficient capacity for hydrogenation after Shanghai Petrochemical's annual crude oil processing capacity reached 14 million tons. After the raw materials introduced by the device are hydrorefined, the sulfur content and nitrogen content in the product can be reduced, and the safety, stability and combustion performance of the diesel fuel can be improved to achieve the purpose of clean production. The main product of the device is the refined diesel oil that meets Euro III emission standards. This will play a positive role for Shanghai Petrochemical in seizing high-end diesel market share and increasing its competitiveness. In addition, this set of key equipment in the domestic largest diesel hydrorefining plant, the reaction feed pump for the first time achieved localization.

While focusing on its own development, Shanghai Petrochemical has increasingly focused on energy conservation and environmental protection. During the construction of the device, efforts were made to design, construct, and put into operation the environmental protection project and the overall project at the same time so as to ensure that the device meets environmental protection requirements and achieves energy conservation and consumption reduction during operation.

In terms of environmental protection, the waste water and exhaust gas discharged from the plant were sent to the existing acidic water stripping plant and sulfur recovery plant of Shanghai Petrochemical respectively for unified treatment and emission standards. In terms of energy saving, the device has taken a number of measures, including the use of high-efficiency heat exchangers in the double-shell process in the high-pressure heat exchangers of the reaction system, raw materials used “mouth-to-mouth” feeding to reduce power consumption and the use of low-temperature heat energy, fractionation The energy required by the system utilizes the residual heat of the reaction system to achieve reduced energy consumption. In the selection of electrical equipment, new types of energy-saving electrical equipment were selected, which effectively reduced the overall energy consumption of the equipment.

In addition, the construction of the device is based on both current and long-term development. In the future, as the country’s environmental protection requirements are more stringent and the oil emission standards are more stringent, Shanghai Petrochemical will only need to increase a small amount of investment and make slight adjustments to the device to produce Euro IV emission standards.
