Beijing plans to build a world-class electric vehicle R&D center in three years

China News Service, Beijing, November 20 (Reporter Zhang Ziyang) Beijing will take the power of the whole city to promote the research, development and industrialization of new energy vehicles . In three years, Beijing will achieve a big leap in the new energy automotive industry, especially the electric vehicle industry. , to become the world's leading research and development center for electric vehicles, and to build China's important R & D and manufacturing base for new energy vehicles .

This is the goal set out by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economics and Information Technology and the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform jointly issued by the "Beijing Municipality's Implementation Plan for Adjusting and Rejuvenating the Automotive Industry."

At the press conference on the 20th, Jiang Guiping, deputy director of the Beijing Economic and Information Commission, said that the introduction of such a revitalization plan will ensure the steady and rapid growth of the current economy and increase the economic stamina. By 2011, the annual growth rate of the output value of the Beijing auto industry will reach 20%; in 2011, the output value will reach 160 billion to 180 billion yuan, and the industrial added value will account for Beijing. Ten percent of the industry accounts for 2.5 percent of the city's total GDP.

Jiang Guiping said that electric vehicles and new energy vehicles should set high standards in the world, and Beijing is also facing breakthroughs in three major technologies: electric, electronic control, and batteries. Now the battery is very critical, the main problem of the battery is the short duration, for example, can only open two hundred kilometers. Now Beijing considers supporting the gas station. When the public refuels, they can also change batteries and adopt standardized and perfect modes.

Jiang Guiping feels that this high-end goal is determined because Beijing has many advantages and conditions that other cities cannot match. She cited the media as an example: Beijing attaches great importance to the research and development of new energy vehicle pure electric vehicles, and as a key development direction, can seize the current high ground of China's new energy vehicles and pure electric vehicles ; Beijing lifts the city's strength in advancing the automotive industry optimization In the future, China will upgrade into a top-notch automotive R&D and manufacturing city in China; focusing on the diversified development of the industry, it will mobilize Beijing’s financial resources and social resources, including venture capital, to jointly develop Beijing’s auto industry; it will strive to carry out 500 vehicles by the end of next year. Demonstration of pure electric taxis will be used as a breakthrough to drive the formation of new energy vehicles in Beijing, especially the electric vehicle industry chain...

In addition, the Beijing Economic and Information Commission and the National Development and Reform Commission also issued plans to adjust and revitalize the urban industrial, biological and pharmaceutical industries, equipment manufacturing, and new energy industries. These programs will help achieve a goal of 8% growth in Beijing's industrial growth and a 9% increase in regional GDP in 2009.
