BASF said recently that the company will build a new dispersant unit in Huizhou near China Daya Shell Daya Bay Petrochemical Complex. Sinopec Shell Huizhou Petrochemical Complex will provide some raw materials to the new plant.
The BASF facility will be designed to produce 100,000 tons/year of carboxylated styrene-butadiene latex (XSB) dispersant and acrylic dispersant. The device is expected to be put into production in the first quarter of 2012, but the exact time will depend on the government's approval.
