Here are some photos taken at today’s 2-11 alarm at 9650 S. Ewing Ave. It appears to have been a gas explosion. There were two ambulance transports, and one person was reported in very critical condition. The lighting wasn’t great for capturing clear images of the new snorkel ladder, but the photos still give a good sense of what the scene looked like. Most of the fire load was concentrated in the rear of the building, so the snorkel was backed down the alley and positioned in an empty lot on the C/D corner. Eventually, they moved the snorkel to the front of the house and removed the roof. There's also a short video showing the setup of Squad 5A.
